Electric and Cold each have a karmic trick, doing decent damage with a chance to proc, but this hinges on the user getting blasted to make it worthwhile, and while both Electric and Cold will attempt to mitigate damage taken by doing this, the user's still just hoping that the middle-men will keep their HP at a workable level.Īnd then there's Vex Armor. It's a reliable damage aura, with nothing in particular to make it stand out in this part. So, looking at what else the wards do, aside their buffs: Heat's area of effect thing really isn't that impressive in any respect.

I'm sure the Electric could do the same for Shields, but.as noted above, I don't really see the use, by comparison. Suddenly, their HP was much less anemic - even after they were out of range. Many times, I've been running with friends, seen that they had low HP, and.well, really, I didn't even have to break stride, I just slid past, blasting away with my Boar Prime. Besides.that extra HP would really make Vex Armor pop. From defensive and personally synergetic standpoints, I really don't see any use for Electric or Cold.Īlso, Heat Chroma is capable of healing allies with the same method - he just has to get close. From a defensive standpoint, the others just fall flat - I'm not going to go into detail about Electric and Cold, and I haven't tried Toxin (it seems like it's a very offensive ward, anyway), but here's how I looked at it when I started using Heat Chroma with Rage (and Energy Siphon, because sometimes you overestimate what you can do): Shields are a renewable resource that get bypassed by a few types of damage, Armor is a (mostly) static resource, Health is what they're both protecting skip the middle-men, and get beefy where it matters. Due to what Elemental Ward does with Heat equipped, especially in conjunction with Vex Armor, I really can't see a point to any other element. The only element he has that I haven't touched is Toxin, and I probably never will touch that one.Īfter all, he's got Heat. I tried Cold, too, but found that I just didn't really give half a damn when an enemy got chilly and slowed up. I've had Chroma for a while, and at first I was neither impressed nor unimpressed he was solidly 'Eh.' Some of his abilities worked well together, others did not, really nothing special - I pretty much only used the Electric element at the time, which.looking at it now, I'm not really sure why I did, besides that I liked the idea of a lightning-spitting dragon. Still, though, here's some thoughts on Heat Chroma, with Rage. I'm probably late to the 'whoah, that's nuts' train.
